"United by Memories" Dementia Sports Café

On the third Wednesday of every month, Cambridge United Community Trust organises a 'United by Memories' sports café for people living with dementia and their care partners. The sessions include activities, looking at sports images and memorabilia to aid recall and memory and chatting over tea/coffee. And of course, in Cambridge United tradition, we finish with a "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts"!

CUCT is delighted to be partnering with Dementia Compass and 100 Years of Coconuts (the historic arm of Cambridge United) to run the sports café.

The event is free to attend and tea/coffee and biscuits are provided.

Media:
Cambridgeshire Live have a great article about 'United by Memories' on their website.
Check out this video of an interview in the cafe with two ex-U's legends: Rodney Slack & Luke Chadwick!

The sports cafés take place on the third Wednesday of each month from 2pm-3.30pm at The Abbey Stadium. The next few:

  • 14th November (*NB: this is the 2nd Wednesday of the month*)
  • 6th December (Seniors' Christmas Lunch)
  • 19th December

We'd love to see you there!
