World Book Day
Here at Cambridge United Community Trust, we are as passionate about reading as we are about football. To mark World Book Day 2018 on 1st March, this year we launched a book-related competition for local primary schools.
Our competition was based on the fact that Marvin the Moose had run out of things to read in his den. He therefore needed some recommendations from younger readers. To see Marvin's letter to schools in full, please click here.
The winner of our competition was announced on World Book Day itself, Thursday 1st March 2018 at Mayfield Primary School. Ilana, a Year 4 pupil wrote a brilliant letter to Marvin, recommending that he read 'Wonder' by R.J. Palacio. You can see Ilana's fantastic letter below:.
To add to the fun on World Book Day, we were delighted to receive reading recommendations from CUFC players and staff. Please see our Twitter feed for some brilliant videos!
For more information about the competition, or any aspect of our work in schools, please contact Tim Walker, our Head of Education.
