Scott's Mascot Day
On Saturday 26th August, at the game against Morecambe, Cambridge United were privileged to have Scott Needham as a mascot to walk out with the team. Scott and his family travelled from Oldham to attend the game following Scott’s passion for Cambridge United which started due to his admiration of the Duchess of Cambridge.
The Cambridge United fans gave Scott a rapturous reception consisting of a standing ovation when he walked off the pitch at the start of the game.
Scott’s father, Stuart, told us about their experience at the match: “It goes without saying what an absolute fantastic time we had with all our friends at Cambridge United. All of the staff and all the players showed an empathy that is not common in a lot of places, you all epitomised what a ‘family friendly’ club you are. Cambridge United should be so proud of how you all conduct yourselves and how you deliver the match day experiences that will provide wonderful memories for a lifetime.”
